Robert Whittaker's pain was 'out of this world' before UFC 234 | Ariel Helwani's MMA Show
Robert Whittaker recaps the days before his cancelled fight at UFC 234 against Kelvin Gastelum with Ariel Helwani on his MMA show. Whittaker says that at 2 p.m. the day of weigh-ins, he first started to get cramps and the pain was "out of this world." He was told he’d die if he didn’t get emergency dual surgery. He also gives his thoughts on Gastelum wearing a UFC belt, saying "I thought it was cute. You know when your kid finds your work belt at home and starts to wear it. It's adorable." He also approves of the Gastelum vs. Israel Adesanya interim middleweight title fight and isn’t sure when he’ll be able to return.
